Our church, Ecclesia Gnostica Universalis, or Universal Gnostic Church, is an international organization dedicated to the advancement of Light, Life, Love, and Liberty through alignment with the Law of Thelema. Ecclesia Gnostica Universalis (EGnU) was founded by a College of Bishops on the Fourth of July in the Year 2000 C.E.
Membership in Ecclesia Gnostica Universalis is available through baptism, confirmation, and dedication; advancement is independent of and does not require membership in or affiliation with any particular Order. It is a Church wherein all Thelemites may work together.
Much has been written about the history of the Gnostic Church, the value of apostolic succession, and other similar issues by those bent on proving the validity and authority of their own particular lineage and church. However, in Classical Gnosticism, the historical continuum of the visible cosmos was regarded as a creation of inferior and anti-spiritual ruling powers, the Archons. As such they considered it a prison in which the spirit or Divine Spark is trapped in exile. They believed that the goal of existence is to extract the sparks trapped in matter, so that they can return to their true spiritual home.
Ecclesia Gnostica Universalis does not accept or practice this extreme dualistic form of Classical Gnosticism. We acknowledge, as does Tantric theory, that the material elements, properly used, can assist us on the path to Gnosis. Yet there may be an element of truth to the myth of the Archons — the desire for power and authority over others may hinder not only ones own spiritual progress, but may also become an obstacle for those who submit to that authority.
On the other hand, the value of the direct transmission from master to student of the essence of a spiritual practice cannot be denied. As the aim of Gnosticism is spiritual evolution, which in our opinion flourishes best in a heterogenous environment, our Bishops have received and worked transmission from a wide variety of sources: Wicca, The Golden Dawn, Ordo Templi Orientis, the Horus-Maat Lodge, the Nath and Kaula Tantras of India, and the Vajrayana Tantras of Tibet.
Thus, while following in the tradition of the Gnostic Churches of the past and present, such as l’Église Gnostique de France, l’Église Gnostique Universelle, and Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica, we embrace a wider definition of Gnosis and inherit a colorful phantasmagoria of rites and rituals from the many gnostic traditions of the world.

Hello Jay. Where are you located? And yes its the same thelemic/gnostic lineage of the OTO and AA which was founded by Crowley.
It has an historical link, but the two are not in communion and are unaffiliated. EGnU indeed is an alternative for thosewho do not like a top-heavy structure but want to Work in ecclesiastic Gnosticism.

My name is James Cruz. I am a Gnostic Bishop through Ordination of the Antioch / Malibar rite.
My Gnostic Ordination is one of interest (Meaning interesting). It comes from a voting, per se of three Gnostic Bishops, and a laying on of hands. I was ordained May 16th, 2006E.V.
And also hold paperwork from Lola De Wolf confering upon me the degrees of IX and XI Degree O.T.O. in which I am now, by propper warrant / Charter OH.O. of O.’.T.’.O.’. – (Order To Ov)

We also hold an ecclesistical branch, in which I am Reveend / Gnostic Bishop.
It is EclesiaGnostica vita Univesalis, or E.G.v.U. for short.
W are currently looking for a biger space t conduc Mass, as well as a Permanent place (Sae where mass is held) to perfom and confer initiations. We do not follow the c.o.t.o. Rituals, although Our Holy Book, or Volume of te Sacred Law is Liber Al Vel Legis.
We also acknowledg that Liber 49 is the4th Chapter ofthe book of the Law.

I recieved the invitation to World Press and have filed all out. I am now just awaiting the confirmation e-mail to firm up my registration on worldPress. In the mean time, When does a circulation of bull come around? I am interested and I imagine, if my understanding is not mistaken, I need to be recognized by three wandering Bishops of the EGnU in order to be recognized as a Bishop amognst this affiliate? I would love to serve and be a part of this in all ways, and be as active as possible. If I could get three Bishops for recognition, it wouldbe great. In the past, I was speaking and corresponding with Simon (Tau Aleph) Gerald (Before Surgery) and Brother Allen. It has been a while and now the opportunity has presented itself again. Any and all suggestions / assistance would be greatly appreciated.

All is going well. Thanks for asking. We are currently utilizing a space for services.
My Clerk House (Home) is realy the main place I work out of. Point of contact, etc.
Soon, I would very much like to have an established permanent space for Mass, Ritual
Group magickal work, and to provide all services eclesiastically that I can.
My wife assists in many ways, and we do have several females in our group.
(Males as well:-)
To make a long story short, I will remain patient. My will is known and is in alignment with THOU will. Divine will. The Universe will respond and soon thing will just continue getting better:-)

Helo guys, one question about OTO and AA heritage. As I check wit official O.T.O. and some sources closed to AA…it seems that you are spreading lies.
There is no connection between EGnU and these two. On thge contrary, I’am informed that EGnU is nothing more then organisation of desperadoes & dissidents from O.T.O. which ware expelled or left O.T.O. because they left to their EGO to rule over them.
O.T.O. didn’t want to call these Bishops (at least founders REALY get their Bisshop titles INSIDE O.T.O. and they started new semi-order (Because it’s not just Gnostic Mass) with initiatory system completly stolen from original.

I would like to point out that the retired Tau Aleph was consecrated by McMurtry. Tau Hasirim consecrated and initiated almost all of the oto bishops and camp masters. Btw, he has been cross consecrated by several paths besides the oto/egc. You are not the only gnostic or thelemite path. Tell us how much of Crowleys work wasn’t taken from old initiatory rites? Or if you even bothered to investigate any of us. Ill say this as nice as possible. It is our will to be here and we have pure will unassauged of purpose without authoritarian dues or dictatorship. The value of transmission from master to student can most certainly be denied when one acts from the position that there are no reliable authorities, that hierarchies arising from the exercise of arbitrary authority should be refused, and that people have the necessary resources within them and do not need instruction from elsewhere.
Brother Colt, word master in terminology has many conotations. As there is the ‘visible object of worship’ or as there are symbols, that have meaning behind it, so are our very own bodies the vehicle of the buddhahood, it’s to ones choice or ‘spiritual preference’ which path to take, from this ‘universal point’, everything in existance may or may not be important to ‘YOU’, and that’s what’s important. How do You correspond to your inner master, or did You need the outter reflection? Also reliable ‘authorities’ is the question itself, but the fact is that if you have a really hard time to find something yourself, there are people who been there and done that and can point you where to look, if that however be your Will.
